I’m running for re-election! (Yes, again!)

The redistricting of the City Council to accommodate 2020 Census results means that I must run for re-election to complete a four-year term, after only taking office just last year.

I’ve dedicated my life to public service, first as an aide to Council Member Ruth Messinger, as Deputy NYC Public Advocate, as the Council Member for the Upper West Side (2002–13), as Manhattan Borough President (2014–21), and again as Council Member since January, 2022.

I’ve worked to help New York City recover from the worst of the COVID pandemic, respond to the spike in crime, close gaps in quality of life, improve parks and public schools—and help asylum-seekers put down roots in NYC, as generations have before them. With your support, I’ll work even harder in the next two years.

Election Day is November 7, 2023. Absentee ballots can be requested online here; the deadline to apply online is October 23. Early voting starts Saturday, October 28 and runs to Sunday, November 5.
